ACCOLADES:
I really enjoyed working with André. There were many moving parts and I was glad that he was patient and very specific about how he approached each of the challenges and community partners. We were just talking the other day about his rehearsal technique. It is very different for a conductor to ‘leave space’ in the rehearsal – so people can calmly move from one piece to another and ask questions. He set-up a very unique feel – one of calm, patience, and yet discipline. So, that was very different and very welcoming at the same time. We always seem to be in a rush and that was a nice change.

What a treat to meet and work with Andre this weekend. He did a tremendous job – so much music to rehearse and he had a magnificent road map that allowed him to get through the repertoire completely and then go back for trouble spots and then go back to merge the narration. His sense of fun and play came out with his participation in the narration, “NEVER tell me the odds!” It got an energetic response from the audience who recognized the line from the movie
