Conductor Raffaele Ponti is an artist of dynamic personality, charismatic performances, and superb musicianship. Artistic Director and Conductor of the Paducah Symphony Orchestra in Kentucky and the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra in Florida, Raffaele continues to raise the artistic level of both orchestras and has developed extensive educational programs for people of all ages making the orchestras relevant to their communities.
A dynamic conductor hailed for his profound musical performances, André Raphel is renowned for his technical brilliance. An adventurous programmer, he has also developed a reputation as an orchestra builder. André Raphel has been Music Director of the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra since 2003. He has led the Orchestra in critically acclaimed festivals, world premieres and commissioned works raising the prestige of the ensemble. During the 2017/18 season he leads the Orchestra in numerous concerts including a highly anticipated East Meets West Festival featuring the music of Tan Dun and Rimsky-Korsakov.
Matthew Thomas Troy has held the position of Artistic Director and Conductor of the Piedmont Wind Symphony since January 2015. He has conducted orchestras across the country including the Rochester Philharmonic, North Carolina Symphony, Oklahoma City Philharmonic, Portland Symphony, Greensboro Symphony, Salisbury Symphony, Carolina Chamber Symphony, Kensington Consort, Philharmonia of Greensboro, Gate City Camerata, Triad Chamber Music Society and the UNC School of the Arts Symphony.
